Student Award Winners Named in Art Exhibit
Mar 14, 2016AMHERST, N.Y. – Several ÂÜÀòÉÙÅ® College students have received top honors for their artwork on display in ÂÜÀòÉÙÅ® College’s annual Visual and Performing Arts Undergraduate Exhibition, which runs through April 14 in the Tower Gallery in the Haberman Gacioch Art Center.
The undergraduate exhibit features student work in a range of media, including painting, illustration, printmaking, and animation.
This year’s award winners are:
- First Honors – Autumn McGee of Tonawanda, junior; Chyna DeSimone of West Seneca, sophomore; and Katie Goodwin of Troupsburg, freshman.
- Second Honors – Sydney Hafner of Lancaster, junior; Adan Juda of Clarence Center, sophomore; and Desiree Lis of Bowmansville, freshman.
- Sister Jeanne File Art History Award – Alex Gauss of Lancaster, junior.
- The Floydie Award for Best Figurative Work – Matthew Tanner of Amherst, junior.
- Honorable Mentions – juniors Matthew Arida of Grand Island, Eli Brennan of Grand Island, Gabrielle DeReu of Orchard Park, Kale Johnson of Clarence Center, and Angela Marini of West Seneca; sophomores Sydney Mangin of Tonawanda and Carlye Sager of Cheektowaga; and freshman Lucas Santos of Lancaster.
